Oxygen Levels in your Pond

I think we all know that oxygen is vital to animal and plant life.  The colder the water the higher the oxygen levels, which is why ponds suffer more in the summer months because oxygen levels plummet as the water warms up.

Oxygenating plants are, of course, helpful, but it is a little known fact that Aquaplancton raises oxygen levels by at least 20% – not on day one, but after it has been in the pond for about 6 months.

This happens because Aquaplancton stimulates the beneficial aerobic bacteria which multiply and spread. Aerobic means air, so they are giving off oxygen. This is why we get so many reports of plants and fish looking healthier after the use of Aquaplancton.
